Miami International Airport Employee Parking Area Storm Water Study and Design of Interim Drainage I

PROJECT DESCRIPTION

Provision of on-going miscellaneous civil engineering services to meet the requirements for fast response and specialized engineering services for the Miami-Dade Aviation Department. This service order required conducting a study for the 2000 vehicle 700-acre employee parking lot and drainage basin at Miami International Airport. The study analyzed the current drainage system and made recommendations for the improvement of the system to facilitate drainage of the parking lot while meeting DERM and South Florida Water Management District design criteria. The project involved data gathering, analysis of existing conditions, determination of future land use impact, development and evaluation of alternatives including storm water modeling for the 5, 10, 25 and 100 year storm flows, cost engineering and presentation of final recommendations. A second service order involved preparation of design and construction documents for the construction of interim drainage improvements to resolve severe flooding conditions in three of the sub-drainage basins. This project is currently under construction with on-going construction administration services being provided.

Owen Roberts International Airport Land Side Master Plan Improvements

PROJECT DESCRIPTION

Design and preparation of construction document for the construction of land side master plan improvements including design of site master plan, geometry plan, demolition plan, paving, grading and drainage, new main entrance road, new paved long term parking area, two new staff parking areas, rental car parking area, new curbside loading/unloading areas and associated access drives. Sewer systems improvements included the design of a new 30,000 GPD sewage treatment plant, sewer pump station and force main. Duties also included preparation of technical specifications and construction cost estimates. The parking lot consisted of 360 parking spaces.

Air Sal New Hangar at Tamiami Airport

PROJECT DESCRIPTION

SRS Engineering, Inc. provided all civil engineering design, permitting and associated construction phase services for the construction of new hangar building, 25-30 vehicle parking lot, aircraft apron area, additional off-street parking and associated improvements at the Kendall-Tamiami Executive Airport. Services also included design of 12-inch water main extension, water and sewer services, and site drainage improvements and environmental resources permit (ERP) in compliance with the Airport’s Stormwater Master Plan.
