Florida Memorial University - Main Entrance & Roadway Design

Location: Miami Gardens, FL

Client: Florida Memorial University

PROJECT DESCRIPTION

SRS provided engineering design and construction support services to Florida Memorial College for the construction of the new main campus entrance road and relocation of existing utilities along Wilkie D. Ferguson Way. The new campus entrance road connects the campus with N.W. 42nd Avenue. The scope of work also included the preparation of designs for the closing and removal of the existing entrance road. Additional work included the design and relocation of existing utilities that conflicted with future construction including sanitary sewer, gas, compressed air, chiller water lines, and electrical lines. The project was divided in two phases. Phase 1 consisted of the design and preparation of construction documents for the project. This work included the development of detailed design drawings, specifications, cost opinions, processing applications and permits (civil related), and construction solicitation support services. Phase 2 included construction administration support services for review of shop drawings, request for information, construction observation, change orders, requisition approval and final project construction closeout.
