SRS is hiring a Design Civil Engineer. Candidates should have experience in design of local Roadways, Drainage, Water and Sewer Systems, Drainage Systems, and Land Development projects. Applicants must have experience with local regulatory agency requirements and permitting. Must be a graduate civil engineer with a minimum of 2 years’ experience. The ability to work independently, managing various components of multiple engineering projects. Be proficient at AutoCAD and Civil 3D. Great communication skills

Responsibilities:

  • Assist with the planning, design and permitting of civil engineering, land development and infrastructure projects;
  • Assist with the preparation and modification of various engineering documents including reports, specifications, plans, construction schedules, cost estimates and design plans for projects using engineering and design software (AutoCAD, Civil 3D, etc.) and equipment;
  • Effectively use reports, maps, drawings, engineering plans, test and aerial photographs to assess soil composition, terrain, hydrological characteristics and topographical and geologic data and their impact on the planning and design of projects;
  • Recommend new approaches and ideas that continuously improve efficiency and services performed;
  • Apply knowledge and techniques of engineering and advanced mathematics;
  • Collaborate with team members on project tasks and assignments; and
  • Perform other duties as requested.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering;
  • Entry to 2 years’ experience;
  • Minimum 3.0 GPA;
  • EIT Certification or current registration for the FE exam;
  • Prior relevant internship or professional experience in site/civil design, including site planning, grading, stormwater management, drainage, and soil erosion;
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills;
  • Strong attention to detail with excellent analytical, multitasking, and judgment capabilities; and
  • Ability to effectively work independently and in a team environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Planning, design, and construction management of water/wastewater infrastructure, storm water and land development projects. Projects may include the following: Wastewater Conveyance and Pump Stations; Water Supply; Water Distribution, Sewer pump stations; Master planning services including hydraulic modeling; general land development projects for both private and public sector clients.
  • Managing activities related to project scope, schedule, cost, quality, communications, resources, and risk elements to optimize client service, quality, and fiscal responsibility.
  • Project outlines, project initiation, project schedules, project executions, and project closeout
  • Lead specification and contract document preparation including permitting, and stakeholder involvement.
  • Manage day-to-day activities of project engagements including clients and project teams.
  • Successfully interface with multi-disciplinary design teams
  • Achieve project objectives including quality/scopes, budgets, and schedules.
  • Mentor engineering staff.
  • Develop and maintain continuing business relationships with clients as part of ongoing business development efforts.

Qualifications:

  • Must possess a bachelor’s degree in civil or environmental engineering
  • 2+ years of relevant experience is preferred. Less experienced candidates shall be considered.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license in the State of Florida is Preferred.

SRS is hiring a CEI/Construction Inspector.  Candidates should have experience providing inspection services for construction of local roadways, drainage systems, and water and sewer systems.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain project daily documenting daily construction activities, weather conditions, time charges and contractor’s resources as well as project specific information associated with the project.
  • Observe and monitor the Contractor’s operation and determine, in general, compliance with the construction plans and specifications on each item of work underway and confirm that specified material is incorporated into the work.
  • Confirm that the Contractor has obtained necessary permits.
  • Review Contractor’s daily quantities of work completed.
  • Complete daily construction activity reports.
  • Coordinate utility adjustment activities, utility installation verification, monitoring, record management, reporting and as-built drawings.
  • Monitor the Contractor’s traffic control plan for compliance with plans and specifications and provide recommendations to County, if needed.
  • Coordinate material-testing needs with the Contractor’s schedule and schedule required tests with designated lab.
  • Prepare photographic project documentation.
  • Attending construction, utility coordination and scheduling meetings.
  • Ensure all closeout documentation is received from the Contractor.
  • Monitor construction progress and identify any potential issues or deviations from plans.
  • Review construction plans, blueprints, and schematics to ensure accuracy and adherence to project requirements.
  • Collaborate with construction managers and contractors to address any concerns or questions regarding inspections.

Qualifications:

  • Proven experience in construction inspection or a related field.
  • Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and building codes.
  • Proficient in reading and interpreting blueprints, schematics, and construction plans.
  • Excellent attention to detail and ability to analyze complex data.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to work independently and make decisions based on inspection findings.
  • Familiarity with quality inspection processes and procedures.
  • High School Diploma plus 6 years of experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and or education.
